“Hey Guys,

After a nice break from poker since the WSOP ME, I played my first 2 sessions yesterday.

The first was across tables of 400/800 and 500/1000 7game.  Games were just okay, but I was happy to be playing and working on my mixed game.  I finished down around 20k after losing a 3way allin in the NLHE round with 44 v AA v A5cc on J43cc9 with 60k in the middle.  Everyone played it fine.

I took a break for a while and came back later to 6 table 200/400 cap PLO.  I ran pretty hot and won around 80.

I really dislike cap PLO.  I think it’s a boring game with few complexities, and those complexities are more about math and running hand scenarios through calculators off the table than they are about psychology, leveling, and adjusting to opponents and game flow.  If cap PLO are the only games running, I’ll play, but I hope people start playing something else.

Gus Hansen gets hot

The month of August has been a rocky one so far for Gus Hansen on Full Tilt Poker. This month alone Gus is in the hole over 900k .  However, that all changed yesterday for him at the PLO tables on Full Tilt Poker were he netted himself a profit of 428k.

David Benyamine struggles

It’s been a wild last couple of days for David Benyamine. He’s seen his online  bankroll gain and lose  hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s these kind of swings that makes me in awe of high stakes poker players.

Benyamine began the day in PLO cash tables where he won a little. Later in NL tables variance hit him hard and he dropped fast to -$560k.

Mixed and Omaha Hi/Lo bring the pots in

Luckily he played at the same time Mixed HU and Omaha Hi/Lo where his profit chart went the other way:

From mixed he made +$321k and Omaha +$362k, so at the end of the day we had went up making a nice $123k combined.
